hi all
often wonder how folks name their hatchlings so thought I'd introduce Lucky and Rocket and how they got their names :)
Lucky hatched two weeks ago and unlike their clutchmate was very tiny (just 5cm long) and extreemly thin :( , to be honest I didn't expect Lucky to live long but endevoured to give them the best chances I could ~ now two weeks later although dinky and a lot smaller then the others Lucky is still going strong, she's starting to actively hunt and although it doesn't look like it in the picture is finally putting on weight :D

Lucky today compared with a milkbottle lid (4cm)

Rocket got their name tonight when they were hatching :main_rolleyes: I was in the process of taking a picture for the records..... next I saw a flash of movement as Rocket decided to literally go off like a rocket and launched herself (and in one jump) out of the eggshell, eggbox and the incubator  My family laughed when they later saw the pre-launch photo ~ namely Rockets head marking :D

Dee, that's just too cute, but scary at the same time I'm sure. We have a little one that is just like that, or at least very similar, and we called him Nightmare :) I really like the mark on rocket's head, that's just too much of a coincidence!!!

I am so glad to see how well Lucky is doing, great job taking care of her!!! :sweetheart:
