I didn't even know my Mack Raptor was gravid until about a week ago. She hasn't eaten for a little while, so I was getting kind of worried, but then I figured it out. This morning, I woke up and found that she had pushed all the substrate out of her box, and lo and behold, there she was, guarding two bright beautiful eggs. I carefully opened the box and tried to remove her without disturbing the eggs, but she ended up KICKING BOTH eggs in the process, at which point they both rolled quite a bit. So I have no idea how they were when she laid them, and I figured the best thing to do was to just put them in the incubator, as they are definately fertile, with the bullseye facing up.
THEN, my incubator was running a little too low for my liking, around 84 degrees when I wanted it at 86.5, so I unplugged the thermostat and the bator, and restarted them both. The temperature seemed to be going up after I did that, but at that point I had to leave for work. I just came home, 9 hours later, and discovered the temp is where I want it to be. Knock on wood, everything seems to be okay.
So my question is, do you think the eggs will be okay with the little roll that they did? And the minor temp situation? These eggs are REALLY important to me, as they could potentially be some really COOL babies!!!
