So I have a trio of mack snow albinos and I have one that has unusuall eyes compaired to the other two. The one with the half black eyes is my male and I don't know if this is normal or not. These are my first mack snow albinos so i am new with them. Does anyone have any suggestions or information that might help me. I have tested his eyes with a flashlight to see if it was just affected by the light but its not. I didn't wanna stress him out so it was only for a second. I know that the eclipse leopard geckos have blacks eyes but not for sure whats going on with this little guy.

I can only hope that this is genetic and that he will pass it along to his mack snow albino and tremper babies. This group will also produce super snow albinos but they will have all black eyes so they will not show if they carry the genetics if it is genetic. Guess the only way to prove this really is through breeding if no one knows anything.

Looks like eclipse eyes to me. I won't say the gecko is Normal since that has implications of being a specific morph or trait, but it is fine. I'm sure you will be able to find a lot of pictures of similar eyes in the SHOW OFF YOUR LEOS category if you search for "eclipse" or "snake eyes" descriptions. It is a simple recessive trait, so it can be passed on without the parents showing the trait. For a VERY basic comparison it's like people with brown eyes having a blue eyed child. You can probably find more information in the MORPHS and GENETICS category. Hope this gives you a start in the right direction.

Well this gecko isn't normal it is a Mack Snow Tremper Albino. I know about the eclipse trait and that if it is so that it could be passes on by this male. Mack Super Snows have a form of eclipse with the all black eyes just never seen a mack snow have this. I am just trying to see if anyone has any more information they would like to share about this morph and if this is a sign of the eclipse genetics. I know I have a good knowledge about leopard geckos and their genetics but still don't know everything.

Could be a Mack Tremper, but if the breeder didn't tell you for sure, you'll need to test breed anyways.

while that looks like a mack snow tremper eclipse(loosely called banded mack raptor) , you need to know the genetics behind him and test breed to a raptor or eclipse to prove out the eye gene.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I e-mailed Ron Tremper the other day because I knew he could tell me what it was. He e-mailed me pretty quick which I was surprised cause i'm sure he is really busy right now with breeding season starting full steam.

He sayed that this little guy is a Trepmer Albino Snake Eyed Snow "Raptor". I think I made a good score.

I bought this guy with two little albino mack snow females for 60 bucks. I came out pretty good on this deal. It comes out that I payed about $36.83 for him. :main_thumbsup:

i would suggest proving out the eye gene before you start marketing that gecko. Noobs might buy into but seasoned people if they aren't told what they are getting you'll have some pretty PO'd people.

Who the heck said I was marketing myself or any of my geckos. I have never sold one and I am surly not going to falsly identify anything as something misleading. If you read into my first post I had already said that its something that i would have to breed to see if its a gene carried by this male and to see if it would be present in his offspring. I know many people know more than I do so I wanted to see what peoples their opinions are on what this could be. The eye colors are new "morphs" and not everyone knows everything like you do. Most people have posts on here trying to help people not trying to accuse them of something thats not even on their mind by someone who thinks they are actually worth listening to.

Now when I do get into selling geckos I will not mislead anyone and i will sure as hell won't be marketing myself or any website unless I was ready to actually start something. Think before you speak!

Dude,

i offered you a suggestion i then followed it up with a comment that has made you upset. I'm sorry you can't handle the truth. You don't take comments either negative or positive very well.

Maybe before blowing up count to 10 and repeat to yourself i love myself.

back on topic.

prove it out. you may have gotten a deal, but you're going to have to invest the time and money into it. good luck.

You know I do take positive comments very well and i do believe i thanked everyone for posting. You are right that i don't take negative comments that well because i hate negative people who tried to imply that someone is doing something they are not. Comments and suggestions are differant then implicating someone that they are doing or thinking of doing unethical business. You said that if i sell it as that and it isn't that people will be pissed. Of course they will and so would I and thats pretty obvious to understand why they would. A moron could figure that out but an idiot can't see it either way. You just have to rely on the ethics that people have.

Your animal is not carrying the eclipse gene until proven, so your feedback you are taking as gospel holds very little weight(nobody has the ultimate word.. well maybe me :main_laugh: )
