What is a White and Yellow? And wouldn't crossing that to a Mack Snow just produce yellow Snows, something that many people are trying to avoid? Not trying to sounds facetious, just asking out of curiosity.

Congrats on the baby, I really like the stripe it appears to have :)

Why do you think it´s a Mack snow...I have never hatched a mack as yellow as that one. Do you mean/think it is that yellow beacuse of the W/Y gen?
Sorry for asking...but the whole W/Y breeding is so far just putting ants in my brain.

@Lotta

When you cross a MSS with anything else you get always a MS, so they all must be MS. And Calico is dominant, so they must be Calico MS.

I'm curious to know what a white/yellow is as well..a yellow and white albino strain? If so wouldn't that make super snow albinos or something like that? idk I'm still elarning gens but never heard of a white/yellow

I missed the Super snow part :(
But I still think it´s yellow ;) all my ( regular ) Mack hatchlings have been black and white...and later on changed into different looks and colors. They have never hatched yellow...

Donna...no, it´s not an albino strain. You can search on the forum to get some info.

Well I have seen a gecko hatch with some yellow like that, and then grow up and change to be as white as a Line Bred Snow.. but that is a completely different project *shrugs*

Thanks all.

I get a lot of emails from Americans asking if W&Y is an european version of Enigma. The answer is no and I am sure of it. I get that species from Belarus.

I am sorry but it’s too early to explain how it is inherit, because we got a lot of problems with that species during first 2 years of breeding. That species used to have a lot of problems with health. It took us 2 years of hard work to change it. At present we are working on W&Y combo morphs project. We got a group of 500 geckos. It’s is pleasant surprise, because we got a young geckos too (they were born a few days ago). It’s is possible that for a month or two we will be able to understand a genetics of that species. There is one thing we are absolutely sure. Even in first generation it is possible to get W&Y if you have only one W&Y parent.

In reference to the Mack Snow W&Y I can say that gecko is much brighter than nominally W&Y we had in the past. It’s very promising. I must admit that we will be able to confirm is it a form of Mack Snow in next year.

... momma was super snow so:main_huh::main_huh:

If one perant was a super snow = all snows.Then no doubt it's a snow of type.And if the calico gene does that to snow gene when breed to super snow.It would be a good way to prove calicos out by breeding them to super snows.

Calico and W&Y are the same thing.W&Y is there mainland Europe name.Calico is a name taken by most other.IMO Calico has a better ring to it then two letters or even the full of white and yellow.Saying W&Y restricted to the color tone.I mean i've seen a couple 'W&Y' a more orange color tone just don't ring true to me.When you just say calico your not restricted to the color tone as much.
