For those of you that bread mack snow to mack snow, did your outcome of offspring support the percentages that your supposed to get(25% normal,50% mack snow,25% supper snow) or did your outcomes flex?

I breed a lot of snow variations. I find that not every clutch will be that way but as a whole i think that's fairly accurate percentages. Its a lotto every egg. You can get 100% SS. There is no telling. Those percentages are your chances per egg. Not an overall standard.

the 1:2:1 ratio on mack snows, as with any inheritable trait are not guaranteed, but with a large enough breeding population you will eventually get a ratio that is vary close...

this year i bred a super hypo creamsicle to a sunglow and got 7 mack snows and 1 tangerine, even though the ratio should have been 4 macks and 4 tangerines

even when Mendel did his peas there was some degree of variation from the expected, and he did hundreds. Probability is what it sounds like; what is probable. In small scale leopard gecko or any genetic crossings you can have a great deal of variation in your numbers, for no apparent reason. I bread 2 murphys patternless het albino 25% chance of albino I got 1 out of 7, almost half the expected but hardly a trend. Each event is considered a random isolated event, ie it does not matter what happend in the previous or the following eggs.
I would not think anything odd about 10% - 20% off from the expected of any cross untill I got to at least 100.

Its just like flipping a coin! You can flip it 5 times and possibly get heads all of the time. Once you flip the coin a large number of times, lets say 50-100, then the ratio should be about 50/50! Just because you flip the coin 4 times and it lands on head all four doesn't mean you'll have a better chance of getting tails on the 5th. There will still be a 50/50 chance.
