hi guys,

i got this gecko from a friend of mine.
here's the story line.......i got 2 female highyellow and i wanted to sold them off.....and my fren offered me to swap a macksnow with the 2 highyellow and i agreed...based on trust, i considered the gecko i got from him is a macksnow...but its not that i have a doubt, i just would like to reconfirm again with all of you masters out here.....to tell me...is this a macksnow or a highyellow?

thank you

Do you have pictures of it as a hatchling? A lot of mack snows will yellow as they get older and their black stripes will turn to lavender. So a lot of mack snows will look like normals or high yellows as they age. This makes it really hard to tell when they're older, but when they hatch out ALL mack snows are pure white with black stripes.

I agree about seeing photo's when it's younger. I have a true mack that I picked up from a show he was dark black, and white, but now has slight yellow in him. Not as much as the one you posted, but still has some. Either way, I think that you still have a very nice looking leo there!

Here's a picture from Leopard Gecko Wiki of a mack snow (jungle) hatchling:

And here's a pic of two of my macks for reference:

The first one is about six or seven months old now and the second is about three years old. See how their black and white hatchling pattern has faded? They're both still definitely snows.
