Do some males stop eating around breeding season?

My male has not been eating for a while now but he is not losing any weight

It is normal...but still needs to be monitored. If he does begin to loose weight make sure it does not become excessive or they can actually fast themselves sick. If he does begin to loose weight and refuses food I would make sure he cant see or smell females and continue to offer him fresh food until he gets back on food. I personally don't have males go off food very often/long during the season. Mine tend to stay huge

Agreed. After doing the deed for a couple of days, I think it makes some of my males eat a lot more.
