It depends on how many geckos you have in each tank. I often put 20 in a dish every 1-2 days for 1-2 geckos. The mealies tend to climb out of dishes and hide in the corners so if you put in too many, you will end up with mealie hide and seek.

my adults will eat 4-8 mealies each a day , my 9 month old eats about 10 a day and my rescue is a pig she eats 10-14 a day {or I should say she eats them within 5 minutes each day lol}
but i also feed crickets 2 times a week my adults love to hunt them down.

Each gecko is different, I highly doubt one gecko is going to eat 50 mealworms in a matter of days, as long as they can't escape the dish you can put anywhere from 5-20ish mealworms per gecko in the cage. I just put around 20 in the dish letting the gecko eat as much as he/she wants then rotate uneaten worms back into the bin to re-gutload every 2-3 days.
