sorry if this was already asked but i could not find the answer

ok i am thinking of starting breeding mealworms

and i was wondering if you have to remove the beetles and those weird looking things into seperate contaners or if you can leave them all together

i remember i had accidentally bread one time lol

i had beetles and just left them in with the mealies (i only had 4-5) and ended up having some babies so i am thinking you can leave them all together?

just want to make sure
also any other tips you can give me would be great

thanks

I would remove the pupae, but the beetles and mealworms can be kept together.

I remove the pupae if I find them, but for the most part I just leave everybody together. As long as they have enough food/moisture they don't pick on each other.

But you HAVE to make sure you always remember to give them some potato/carrot/apple pieces at least once a week otherwise they turn cannibalistic and just eat the weak ones...it's gross, trust me.
