So I'm fed up with seeing posts a over the internet and various forums of people who have had their geckos for maybe two weeks and they now want to breed. This being their first reptile and now want to breed!!

I don't understand what has happened to learning and ensuring proper care requirements and hands on experience before jumping into breeding...

The market is swamped with these people, who have created an even higher supply of reptiles and a lower demand. Then they want to know what is going on.

Just frustrated...

i know the feeling. its very frustrating. at this point i just want to unload what babies i want to unload and hope that next year is better.

Reminds me of the dog world and Back Yard Breeders. It's a shame to see that bastardizing an animal for profit, with little or no knowledge or understanding of the animal you work with, runs rampant across apparently all species. Certainly the last thing on these novcie breeder's minds is "the betterment of the species/morph/breed".

We all started asking the same questions. If they are not asking the questinos then they cannot learn and ensure the proper care requirements.

IMO new breeders is what drives the leopard gecko market. The market is slow due to the current economy.

as long as the knowledge is there i don't see the harm as long as they do it for the right reasons. I know what you mean though mate and i am with you 100%.
