i got another question.. Do you have to add shipping into the price already? since it will go like straight to you or whatever and won't get to discuss it really.. and how do you get notified when someone buys something?

thanks

some places add in a set shipping amount into their price which they would denote by saying $15 shipped....and some places dont add in shipping until later so they can figure the exact shipping cost. As for knowing when someone buys something well you'll have to have a way for ppl to order from your website or whatever which could be coded to send you an alert when somebody orders...also whenever you receive money in paypal you get an email alert.

oooo, ok thanks. How can do you add shipping on later when the person already paid for everything?

You'd have to get their information (address) and calculate shipping with UPS, FedEx, DHL, or USPS. Thne email them the total. The company I use just charges my card once they figure it out and ship out the worms.

Usually I don't know the exact price until I see it in my account, but you can request that they send you the quote before sending out the worms.

Will you buy purchasing the worms wholesale and reselling them or are you breeding your own. Also, have you decided your prices and how large a bulk quantity you'll sale?

im breeding my own... i dont know my prices yet but its gunna be cheap probably, just enough to make a little profit. I will probably go up to 10,000 at first and more as i get more mealies.

I'm still confused with paypal a little... is the only way to use it is through the internet or do you have like an account # so you could figure it out through e-mail

thanks again!!!

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. People can send you money and it can sit in the PayPal account. You can let the money sit in the account or you can send it to your bank account. I believe that you need an email address AND a debit or credit card number, but it's been a while since I've signed up, so I don't remember exactly.

ok, ill try to explain this as thorough as possible...i might change my Q

When somebody (say, buys a leo) and it is not flat rate shipping...(your the seller) and the buyer already adds it to their cart and buys it..then how would you get them to pay shipping after they have already bought it... would you have to make them make a donation for the shipping amount. or can they just send you some more money without having to buy something or making a donation, but still through paypal.

i hope you understand

thanks a bunch

they could technically send another payment via paypal for shipping costs, but there should be some way to calculate the shipping when they use the checkout

What you should do(my opinion) is have an order form that the customer fills out with their order, name, shipping info, contact email and then if theres any other info u want from them. When they click the submit button all the info gets sent to you in an email. Then you can calculate out the shipping and with paypal you can send a payment request or bill for the amount of the order including shipping. That will send an email to them from paypal, but i would also have your "company" email out a message to them saying that they have been sent a request for payment blah blah blah the order will be shipped once the payment has been received.

I just tell them how much the total would be; they go to paypal and send payment. I've never used a cart when selling reptiles. Also, if you used a credit card, you could email the person after you recheck shipping and tell them the price and ask if it would be ok to charge the card that price.

When you order oversized items from LLL, they email you the updated price with the new shipping and ask if it's ok to proceed with the order.

I think once you started shipping them out you'll get used to the shipping prices and it won't seem so complicated. Usually with USPS it's a set price anyway. I'm not sure about DHL, UPS, or FedEx. You could ship the cloth bags in USPS priority boxes and ship priority (2-3) days, and usually it's a set fee depending on the weight.

It's been a while since I've had to buy worms, but some places cut small circular holes (about 3 inch in diameter) in the box to let air through to the cloth bag. I assume because it's still a USPS box, it's still the USPS set price.

You know what... I want to say by using the USPS boxes, it's one price depending on the weight, but if you use a regular box the price goes up per weight, no matter where you ship, unless international. But again I'm not 100%

Yeah, there's those boxes from USPS that are a set price to ship (I think $10 flat).. you can fit as much as you can into that one box and it'll always be the same price... I'm not sure if other shipping companies do this, though, either..

Yea definitely invest in the USPS boxes. You cant fit whatever in them and they be a set price. I actually think for priority it's 4.60, but it could be a little more. I forget. It's been a while since I've shipped anything priority USPS.

for usps priority mail it is $8.95 flat rate shipping. I just looked it up a few days ago. That is really good for shipping mealies. Could fit 10,000 in there im sure.

Thanks
