talking about co-dom mack snows...

my question is, you see some people like jeanne who have beautiful practully all white/grey an black co-doms, and then you see others selling co-dom het something that doesn't have hardly any white at all if any, looks like a normal.... I know that these are oviously worth less than the nice white co doms, but my question is, is the whiteness line bread, where if you breed 2 yellowish chreaper co doms n gonna get yellowish cheap babies, or is it luck of the draw and doesn't matter what quality the parents are ur gonna get what u get?

I believe the original Macks were more Back & White like mine, but throughout the years the Macks have been bred into Tangs and other colorful Morphs and the Macks that were hatched from them took on some of the Line Bred coloration.

I bred my Male who is almost completely solid black & white to a Tang and got those yellow looking Macks. That won't happen again :)

I am working on getting the Macks as solid Black and White as possible.

I agree with Jeanne. I think the Macks have picked up some color from all the other morphs that they've been crossed with. I guess you have to decide what your goal is. I'm not so concerned about the color of my Macks because I'm trying to produce crosses, like Mack Trempers and Super Mack Trempers. So to me, a Mack that is het for something is valuable because of the genes it carries, not because of its coloration. However, I am very glad that some, like Jeanne, are focusing on producing Macks that are solid black and white. I'm afraid that we've become so focused on producing Mack crosses that we've forgotten how beautiful a Mack can really be.

Well, I just went on Kingsnake,

One person is selling a Male Yellow Mack Het Tremper for $200 + Shipping

Albey has some Nice B & W Male Macks Het Tremper for $400

I think it also depends on what it is Het for and the how many there are for sale. There are a lot of Mack Het Trempers out there, a few Het Rainwaters, not that many Het Bells

Thanks! I really like a nice crisp Black and White Gecko, nothing else like it IMO :) I am also hoping to create Hypo ones, less black more white :main_thumbsup:

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but Opal is VERY VERY beautiful!!

(I'm on my way of learning more about various morphs and genetics by reading all the old posts. :))

Wow Sandy, that is an absolutely beautiful Mack Snow Giant!

I also have a Mack Snow Giant (het tremper albino), but it's not nearly as white as yours, or as beautiful. He's got that ugly light yellow tint to him, but I love him just the same. :main_yes:

He's almost a year old and over the 100 gram mark and still growing strong. I plan on breeding him with either my sunglow, or wait another year and breed him with my giant tremper albino when she's ready.
