I was wondering if you could help me understand what's going on with all the info I've been given. I was told the parents of my baby were two blood hypo het rainwaters ordered from Ron Tremper. She was sold told me by Julie at the Gecko Ranch in NC. Thanks for your help!

The gecko is a tang.

Gecko genetic blood just refers to a line of tangerines. Gecko Genetics use to be a well known breeder, who's no longer breeding. I think the blood, is just refering to the lineage of the gecko, not that it's a blood tang, which are from JMG reptile.

Also, there's no real way to define a "true" tangerine, as it's line breed and there's many breeders who work on a tang project. As long as it's yellow/orange you can call it a tang.

For best results, it would be good in general to start your own thread so you get the attention you should. Julie is also very approachable and would be able to explain what she means. My understanding is that the parents each have a gene for rainwater albino. It takes 2 albino genes for the gecko to look albino, and each of the parents has only one. The gecko you have is not an albino, so it didn't get an albino gene from each parent. It may have gotten an albino gene from one parent but there's no way to know, so it would be listed as "possible het rainwater". The word "hypo" refers to the fact that the parents had 10 or fewer body spots. As you can see, your gecko also has fewer body spots. The "blood" likely refers to a deep orange/red tangerine color. Your gecko doesn't seem to have that trait either. If you have more questions, you could ask here, but I do recommend you contact Julie.
