I wouldn't stress as a tang yet, maybe a while in your care it might brighten up, also it looks like in this picture it has a lower jaw deformity, either that or its its tongue.
Wow it seems to have an eye deformity so that wouldn't surprise me. This is upsetting. She's also only 4g. Seller said hatch date was mid October so I was expecting her/him to be a little bigger and not have any issues since he sent her to me to make up for sending me one with MBD. Here's another pic.
I would have stopped dealing with that breeder after the 1st gecko you recieved from them , shame on them . hope you can get your money back if you choose that route. this breeder should stop breeding its ridiculous the crap they send out to people , i dont blame you for being upset over this again. are you gonna keep this one?
Yes I will keep keep her. It's just so upsetting. I was hoping to raise it for a few months and give this one to my nephew as a graduation gift. He wants one of mine so bad and I figured I could buy him everything he needs. I posted in the health section for her eye and here for her morph so I'm kinda double posting everything now. Is there anything I can for her? I know with the MBD I give the liquid calcium and she is sooooo much better now.
i think the eye and jaw deformity there isnt much to do as long as she can eat well , alot of leos have deformities and live fine they just cant be used as breeders {morally}, has she been to the vet? if everything checks out as far as fecal and such just do what your doing, calcium, good food . She can be a very nice pet, I dont know on morphs im learning in that area still but hope you post pics as she grows would love to see how her color comes through.
Thanks. No she hasn't been to the vet, I posted on her minutes after she was delivered. I've been watching her and she just keeps licking her big eye like its bothering her.
AS a previous poster said, many geckos with deformities can still thrive, I mean my blazing blizzard smiler got his name because of his jaw deformity, (its not major he just has more of a grin then a smile when you look at him) and he is a proven breeder, nothing wrong with him otherwise.
I would run a fecal on her just to be on the safe side, (I don't know if you've got any other leos but im sure you must know about quarentine) so keep her out the way untill you can get her established, and I agree with others, born october and 4g, thats way underweight, i would expect a 4g hatchling not a juvi.
Good luck on raising him/her up to weight her colours should definately improve with proper care.
Yes I have her quarantined. I picked her/him from a pic that was dated 12/08/09. It looks to be the same leo except in the pics there were no spots on the head and she does have spots. I'm just guessing they came up after shedding??? Thank you all for your help!
Can anyone tell from these pics if its the same leo? I got her out last night to give her some liquid calcium, she seemed hungry but just couldn't eat the meal worms. I measured her then at only 3". I just don't see how it could be the same leo and still be that small.
It appears to be the same gecko. I circled several markings that are consistent between the two photos, and close inspection of the baby pic shows that one eye appears slightly smaller than the other. It's probably not something I would have caught without knowing there was an issue, but I really doubt the breeder could have missed it having the gecko in hand.
I don't even care about the refund at this point. I emailed the seller last night just pretty much saying I can't believe that he would do this twice and theres no way he couldn't have noticed this. Her eyes are very obvious. He hasn't replied, surprise.
This is one of the others I got from the same seller that said hypo tang. Is the morph the same for him? Rossi is 9g now but really small compared to my others.
