I hear the term Bell thrown out a lot when describing morphs. What exactly does Bell mean?

To my knowledge, Bell is 1 of 3 albino strains. There are three types of Albino strains, namely the Tremper, Bell and Rainwater (aka Las Vegas).

True, but didn't they pop out of Ron Tremper and Mark Bell's collection? My understanding is that Tim Rainwater bought his as wild caught.

Tremper bought his from some kid, Bell hatched his out. Rainwater imported his.

Ah, interesting. I knew that about Tim Rainwater and Mark Bell, and thought I read about it coming out of Ron Tremper's stock, but I may have been thinking about Mark Bell. Thanks for the clarification. :)

The story I read in the older leo book and from what Ron told me in 99, is that he had to re-find the albino gene.

Rosy (the first "Tremper" albino) and her het brother were purchased from someone out of CA. She was a runt and died in Ron's care. Ron was able to reproduce her brother. This resulted in possible hets and ron had to breed them back to their father. Through more "line breeding" his "line" of albino resurfaced.

And according to the 1998 edition of The Leopard Gecko Manual both Ron's line and Rainwater's line can be traced back to the same shipment of imported leopard geckos in 1996.

And according to Tim, before he disappeared, his imported geckos were bred out to other morphs he had in 1996 and 1997. When he raised and bred the resulting offspring from his imported X captive stock in 1998 the result was Max, a normal Rainwater albino and later that year a patternless albino. Thus why the patternless albino gene combination in the Rainwater line is so easy to replicate.

And for the record, as I'm don't remember if it's been mentioned, but breeding any of the albino strains to the other strain results in normal offspring. But breeding each respective strain to the same strain will result in albinos...to keep it simple.

I see the pictures on Kellis page. But I am also stumped. The thing that has me is I have a hybino but didn't come from a breedering. I don't have a clue weither or not its bell or tremper. Can someone show us pictures of the eyes that will help tell them apart. I hear both bell and tremper!
