Just rescued "bought" these afts. I know nothing about morphs on them, can anyone help me identify what I have here. Just got them today and they definately need to be fattened up!

I can't tell you exactly. However, I found that when I had my normal AFT hatchlings in white tubs in the rack, they got very pale orange, just a bit darker than yours. When I switched them to a regular glass tank with coco fiber substrate, they very quickly darkened up. This may happen to yours in which case I'd say they are normal banded and striped. The one in the middle looks like a patternless but I'm wondering if you're absolutely sure it's an AFT or if it could be a leopard gecko (you should be able to tell by the eyes).

100% sure they are all afts. No doubt. I have 50 or so leo morphs I work with so I know the difference. Looked kind of like a patternless to me as well but I can't find any good websites that have good morph descriptions. Do you know of any by chance?

The person I bought them from called them normal het albino, he didnt know NOTHING about them other than he got them from a big local breeder. I also picked up 21 leos,11 gargoyles, 4 crested and a couple of other geckos that I do not know the species of. What are amel afts worth? I paid about $8.00ea per gecko. I know what the other species are worth except for the unknown species..

they are all amels with one wild type. the wild type (normal) might be het amel, but its impossible to tell by looking.

the one you say looks patternless is just a well bred amel. amel fatties loes their color as they breed while wild type fatties get darker. its actually the same process where the a fatty loses some pigments and produces more melanin after it breeds. but amels dont produce melanin (hence the term amelanistic) so they just lose their other pigments.

amels run from $85 for low quality juveniles up to about $300 for high quality breedable adults.

Yup all proven breeder Amels. I have 6 females and 3 are breed for maybe 3 years now and look the same way :)

Ohh and I wouldn´t say they realy need to get fatten up. That size is good and much fatter results in low numberso f eggs.

Another Question

Are Amels and Albinos considered the same thing in afts? If not, how do you tell the difference. I was able to get ahold of the person that the afts originally came from and have e-mailed pics to him. I am currently waiting on a reply. Thanks
in advance.

Albino and Amelanitc (Amel for short), are the same thing.

But in the Fat Tail trade, Albinos are referred to more commonly as Amels.

By the looks of things these are all Amel albinos, along with the normal in the group. It seems that the older an amel fattie gets, the colors seem to fade, to an almost cream colored gecko. Good luck with these guys!
