Okay, so last night I noticed Ares was about to shed. I don't normally help him, but while handling him some of the shed was starting to come off, so I decided to help him. I had to do this a couple times with Kiya, but it was nothing like this. After peeling off the shed, Ares let me feed him his shed while on a pillow on my lap. It was the most amazing thing! I found it a bonding experience.

Anyone else ever experience a moment you felt was a bonding experience between you and your gecko??

Once, Matt and I were helping Eugene get some shed off of his eye, and after a bit of struggling, eugene realized what we were doing. So he nuzzled up against the q-tip and helped us help him. It was really cute :)

One time Smiley had some shed stuck on one of her toes. I was gone for a week, and when I came back, I found this awful ring of shed on her toe. So I was trying my hardest to get it off, because it looked like it hurt. When she realized what I was doing she tried her hardest to help me by trying to bite it off. Her and I finally got it off, and after that, she is always really calm and chill when she knows I'm trying to help with shed. It's really a cool thing. Glad you got to enjoy that time with Ares!

Aw. I had a similar experience yesterday. My new baby gecko had some stuck shed on her toe and I was getting it off with a wet q-tip, and had a bowl of water next to me. Well got the shed off, and then she just sat there for 5 minutes licking water from the q-tip and then from the bowl when I put it in front of her. Doesn't sound like much but she's been very skittish and hasn't calmed down much since I got her on May 2nd. So it was nice she didn't try to run off for once lol

Mine don't like it when I help the with stuck shed, but they deal with it. My Dante is very vocal when he's angry so he usually grunts at me alot and sends me evil glares XD
