$125.00 haha. I'm definitely not in the big leagues yet!
And then second would be my TUG sunglow that I got at the show for $85 which was like 40% off of her web price. Pretty cheap.

I spend way more on their food and supplies, and the custom shelf I bought for them.

Nigel,

You make it sound like it was so long ago...

In reference to a 13 year old claiming to have spent $3000... and a thread elsewhere on this forum asking if people would feel comfortable buying from a 14 year old...

That's what amazes me about this "business." That the leopard gecko community is so self contained at times and so young both in age and length of time in the hobby... it just takes me back sometimes. Take a step back... enjoy what gives you pleasure. Don't worry about how much someone else has spent... **shrugs**

Well in a hobby that You can produce an animal and get offspring in the same year... I would say it was quite a while ago.

The most I ever paid was shipping (on free geckos). I've only ever paid money for one. I think that was $20, maybe... But I don't breed them. I have more problems running away from people trying to get me to take their geckos they don't want anymore. It does worry me a bit when I see how much people are paying for these animals... what's going to happen in 5, 10 years when they are past breeding age but only 1/2 way through their life?

I spent upwards of that during the MS/Enigma days.

Wow! quite an investment but I'm usually amazed at this (Nigel 14 - 4 less) posts and vast knowledge spoken on this hobby.

I feel a good bit better saying this after last night.
I paid $325 for a Super Snow male of very light color.
That would be going on three seasons.. (2007)..............
Never a tail rattle out of him and with ready and begging
females that I bought special for him...........
Something clicked in his brainthing and he had a
Snake eyed T.albino with a Raptor parent to
lead him into the Tunnel of Love.
(a PVC Pipe tunnel I made for shedding assistance) and
they mated in the tunnel. Happy, happy, happy!!!
I videoed the "happening"
through the end of the tunnel........
Two days and I'll see if they
seek the same method.....
Will be on You-Tube after I get
it ready....................Take care. HJ
