my mom is mad annoying when it comes to reptiles, it took me forever to convince to let me get leos. i still would love a ball python too, but i doubt i'll get one while i'm still in high school and living with my parents. Can't wait till I move out and get my own place.... gecko room would be awesome. Also I want to try feeding roaches to my geckos but my mom freaked when i told her lol... w.e

I am the mom and they're my geckos. My kids freak out about how many geckos I have and also if they happen to spy a loose cricket. It's not always the moms . . .

Im the same as aliza...Im the mom and all the geckos are mine but I think my 4 year old has the bug! She wants a leo, and I told her when shes old enough to help take care of it, fedding the bugs and everything, she can have one. I told her she can pick out any one she wants....so looking at the pics I was taking she picked a Diablo! Some taste she has, well she still has a little while before I let her have one!

As for Roaches, I will not bring live Roaches into my house but I am considering frozen just because I know how good they are for the critters! Otherwise they give me the willies!!!

My hubby is the one that gives me trouble. I have tried time and time again to get him to see how awesome reptiles are but he won't budge. He really got freaked when he was holding my baby turtle and winked at my turtle and the turtle winked back. After that he has steered clear as much as he can. He even gave me the guest room to get them out of our bedroom. Not to mention he threatened to move out when a box of huge roaches showed up at our door.
My 4 year old daughter on the other hand has been begging for a snake. My hubby caught her in the reptile room one night well after bed time sitting on the floor with one of my geckos. Scared him to death but she was loving it. She is suprisingly gentle and if I could feed a snake little fuzzies I would definitely get her one. If only I could find a snake that was docile, able to be handled, and would eat roaches and mealies life would be great. HEHEHE.

I keep tarantulas, and over the summer I was painting my room, so we moved all my animals downstairs. I keep some of the shed spider exoskeletons in a box, and I dry them so they retain the spider shape. My dad was being helpful and carrying things back upstairs for me, but then he grabbed the box, looked inside, and let out a gargled shriek that I have never heard from a human before. He stopped helping after that.

No one at home seem to care about having mealies in the refrigerator. I'm assuming that having leos is a lot less work than having a puppy.

My mom doesn't care if I bring animals into the home as long as I take care of them. Roaches in the Closet, mealworms in the fridge have become normal around here, lmao.
