We had the pleasure of being the caretakers of this wonderful toad for about 4 years before she finally passed away. We called her Miss Toad (yeah I know real original :main_rolleyes:, and I'm pretty sure she was a Bufo. I didn't think I had any pics of her but I was going thru photo albums today and was pleasantly surprised to find one of her so... Here she is... in all of her wonderful toady goodness :p

as you can see she certainly wasn't lacking food during her time with us... check her out eye balling that worm :) I miss her. She was fun.

She was a bit of a load wasn't she. She'd take up pretty much the entire palm of your hand. Like I said tho... she NEVER missed a meal that's for suer. She transitioned really well to captivity, and was a great friend for the time we had her. My son was looking at the posts last night and saw the one where I said I missed her, and he was like "ya know mom, now that I think about her I miss her too". It was sad. Maybe we'll just have to save another :)

We kept her in a 20 gallon tank with a screen top lid and a heat bulb. She had a big piece of driftwood that she used as a hide on one end as it was sort of flattish and cave like whereas the other end was more branch like and she would sit up there to get closer to the heat sometimes but not alot, about 3-4 inches substrait, msotly yard dirt mixed with some sphagnum moss and repti bark. Also a bowl of water. It was a 6 inch ceramic crock that had a rock in it so that she could either soak completely or just "wade" if she wanted to. We also had rocks leading up like stairs on the outside too so she could get in. As you can see she was a bit of a "beefy" gal ;)

Haha, what a fattie. :) Toads are such personable little guys, reminds me of my younger days when I used to catch em and keep em.
