My dilema, I have a male RAPTOR (Darth)
DarthMaleRAPTORMedium.jpg

that I bred to a female Tremper giant albino possible het RAPTOR. (Pickles)
FemaleTremperGiantPosshetRAPTORMedi.jpg

I introduced them on 04-16-07. First eggs were laid on 05-02-07. Incubated for males. First clutch hatches on 06-23-07. The resulting offspring are ID numbers
167

and 168

All is good. In the meantime the next two clutches laid 05-19-07 (inc male) and 06-02-07 (inc female)both go bad and mold over. Next good clutch is laid on 06-14-07 (inc female) the resulting offspring hatched out on 08-24-07. ID numbers
283

And 284

I am perplexed. They should at the very least be Tremper Albinos!
I chalk it up to an error on my part. I must have switched some eggs up?
I have one clutch still incubating, I’ll wait and see what pops out.
Last clutch is laid on 07-05-07 (inc female). First one hatches this morning 09-09-07. It’s ID number is
300

I am even more perplexed!
I have gone back over my records and accounted for every egg and it’s demise and/or hatch.
I guess we’ll see what pops out of the next egg?

Questions are welcome, I’ll answer them to the best of my abilities.

To start with, the female was a first time breeder. Came to me as a young juvie (4-5 months old). She has never had the opportunity to be with a different male in my care.

:dizzy2: Hmm, I don't know, I don't see how it could be anything other than an error, but those are definately from Tremper lines, and you don't do much work with the Trempers do you? I don't know man, thats crazy.

What do the eyes look like? Could they just be darker colored RAPTORs (darker due to the lower incubation temp?) I have an adult female RAPTOR who is not very bright due to the low incubation temp, and her eyes look a REALLY dark red, almost black. Just a thought. :)

Erm...incubator temps ok? Even the males look dark - for being incubated male anyway. Maybe it's the pictures, but the females don't look black, they look REALLY dark brown. It's hard to say, because those PRS are not normally BLACK as it is. I rememeber a hypo last year that I swore had to be normal...even the eyes looked normal...and it turned out to be albino. That was a Tremper too.

I'm with Shanti on this one Jeremy. I think those may be albino "aptors" with that funky dark eye, dark pigment thing going on. If so, those are about the darkest I've seen though. I had the same thing happen with one that I thought was non-albino for about a month...

That's it... Trempers are evil!! :main_angry:

They must all be eradicated from my collection!!!:rifle:

I have the perfect solution - see you Sunday (we'll bring the big car so there will be plenty of room to load these Tremper minion) :p

Unless, perhaps, you may have yourself a new mutation that popped out of your Trempers.............I'm just sayin'....................

Then perhaps the Trempers aren't nearly as evil, eh? ;) Of course, if you still don't want them, tell them California is a really nice place to live........... ;)

Now look what I've done ;)

The "chocolate" APTOR theory makes the best sense to me... why didn't I think of that :)

Just goes to show... it doesn't matter how long you have been doing something... you can always learn something new.
This case is closed as far as I'm concerned.
