I finally have been handling Margarita, and she is doing very well with it. They are such interesting geckos and I can't wait until she gets bigger! She's already got such big hands for such a little gecko.

Also my Knob Tail geckos finally laid a set of eggs. They are a little dented but I am hoping they are fertile, if not the female should have a few more clutches on the way. :)

That's Ghyra marginata, Robin, AKA Halmahara Giant Gecko or "poor man's leachie." They're really interesting geckos, I have a pair. That one looks good, though she's little. :) my adults are in the 11-13in range. They can be handled if you move slowly and are careful with them; they have delicate skin that tears easily so you have to be gentle. They're very easy to care for: arboreal viv, 80s for temps and CGD and insects. They have a SUPER long incubation period, 5 months at times.

Thanks Ted.

I purchased her from Island Geckos. She is CB, which you don't see all too often. I let her walk through my hands, and don't grab because I hear their skin can tear easily. I wanted a leachie, but don't have the funds right now, so I got her. :)

those are amazing little creatures! are they aggressive?

It all depends on the individual gecko. WCs obviously tend to be VERY nervous and will bite if grabbed. My adults are LTC(2 years) and I don't handle them often, but the male will gape a bit and will nip if he feels he's being messed with too much. The female isn't aggro at all, but these geckos are indeed FAST and the adults aren't any slower. :p Both of mine will lick honey or CGD off my fingers, and will allow a little gentle handling. When I first got them they were extremely shy, and didn't want to be messed with, but over time they got used to me. That being said, cbs are usually more laid back, and take to handling much easier. They're easy to breed, just keep them correctly and if you have a compatible pair they'll go year-round, the eggs are HUGE and take a good while to hatch and are laid on the ground or in plants. They have gigantic claws and will stick to you like velcro. I really think this is an underrated species; they're very easy to keep, get a good size, breed easily, and are cool to watch.
