So I just recently bought my first gecko. I was briefly educated by the pet store owner (we know how reliable that is), and have read bits and pieces about geckos in books and online. So honestly, I know very little. Anyways, just wanted to show off my new guy! Hes very sociable and seems to have taken well to his new home. After 8 years of being a Betta fanatic, I think I made the right choice in choosing geckos as my next hobby :)

PS-> any information that you can give about what type he is and what your opinion may be of his home would be greatly appreciated.

They can sometimes accidently ingest their bedding. You can change yours to repti-carpet, tile, paper towel, etc - just to be safe.
Hes cute!

Really nice gecko you have there! He could be kind of dark in color because hes cold. I would reccomend switching over to paper towels as substrate. Safest thing and easiest/cheapest.

I think his morph is eather a jungle or a normal.For the substrate i would use reptile carpet,paper towels,and newspaper(what i use).

Owner of three geckos and alot of farm animals
I have 2 normal girls and 1 sunglow bell enigma named spike just got him today.

I dont think he can be a jungle with the bands he has, but I could be wrong.
I guess normal. But I am no expert, I'm still learning about morphs.

Ello kate, Anywho, hes a georgeous little guy. There are a few basics, what exactly is the substrate hes on? Also, the temps on the cool and hot side? Be sure you have a cool,warm and humid hide aswell. Theres also suppliments for his food. Just need a general description of what you already have or are getting.

i think may know eachother from a diffrent forum pertaining to a common intrest, bettas :D

from the first pic he looks like a normal but looking at the others he dose look like a mac snow. characteristic black and white with hints of yellow.

Also agreed about the moss flooring. they do eat that :S stupid things lol. you can keep moss in a small hide for a shed box but the rest of his cage should be something else less eatable.

What is the heating you are using? They should have temps around 30celcius and use an UTH. Minimum tank size is 10 gallon but it would be better if you got a bigger tank.
@Katie_ Yay! Another Ontarioian!
