My First Hatchling Ever.

Sitting here browsing the internet, I thought to myself...hey i should check out my incubator. I didn't expect my eggs to hatch until next week, but hey why not?

I don't know why I decided to check it, just kinda thought I should...

Well, maybe it was parental instincts, or just sheer luck...

But I was welcomed by this....

Mother is a Tremper , Father is apparantly a High Yellow normal...

I am assuming he is a High Yellow/Normal, but would he be anything else?

also It was incubated between 85-81 degrees and was laid on Cinco De Mayo...seemed short, you think its a male or female?

Congrats on your first hatchling. The first one (as I am told by breeders) is always the most exiting one. Good luck with him! ;)

he rules. He is walking around his new home, exploring and whatnot.

I wasn't ready for him...because i dont have my thermostat yet, so I had to pull out my UTH halfway on my female tank to give him some ub heat.

just an update....

Her sister hatched today...

question though...she hatched with a big bubble egg sac hanging out, so i left her in a tub with a moist paper towel in the incubator..

She decided she didnt wanna be in there, so she climbed out.

She still has a small bit of egg sac hanging out...is it okay to have put her in her new home, with moist paper towel, or should i put her back into the incubator?

I wanna make sure she absorbs it and is alright....

She is very active! :)

put her in her new home and it'll fall off within a day. Just keep it damp as you stated and all will be fine.

Congrats. I hatched my first little lady last week. I too was really surprised as I didnt expect until sometime this week. I think you could have felt my excitement all the way on the other side of town. It was something else opening the incubator, and to my surprise seeing that little girl in the egg box.
