Yesterday when feeding the geckos,(I have a rack system), I noticed that one of the tubs smelled really funny. I cleaned out the poop and checked it later and it still smelled weird. I disinfected all the tubs, cleaned and washed everything, put in new paper towels. When I checked again this morning the tub was still giving off the smell, so I moved that gecko to quarantine(separate 10 gallon tank in other room). What could be causing this smell? I'm guessing I'm going to have to take him to the vet Monday

Can you describe the smell? if the smell is coming from your gecko, there is a huge chance of an advanced bacterial infection and needs to be seen by a vet asap.

I don't think it is coming from the gecko, I changed the hides in his enclosure and cleaned the everything again. If the smell is there tomorrow morning I will get him in to the vet Monday(still eating and popping great) and the gecko has been quarwntined

Dead crickets in a water bowl stink, black mealworm beetles stink, and squishy, dead waxworms stink like crazy! Maybe it was something like that...

Just be careful he doesn't bite you in the nose when you sniff him, haha :main_laugh:

I feed him mealworms and they are always eaten right away so don't think it is that. I checked this morning and he is in his shed box and half way through his shed. Maybe I'm just over worrying(which is better than under worrying). But thank you for all the help guys
