Gorgeous, Keith! What is that? I've kept cichlids, as well. I've kept South American, Central American, and African. I have Africans (75 gallon and 55 gallon) right now and saltwater (120 gallon w/ Bi-color Parrot, Panther Grouper and Niger Trigger and 38 gallon w/ 2 Percula Clowns and 1 Neon Velvet Damsel as well as live rock, snails, hermits, etc.). Wow! I can't believe I'm down to only 4 tanks right now!! :main_rolleyes:

eta: that male 'normal' is really cool, too. Was that the one that was your pet store find?

When I had the breeders (sold em last year) I only got 1 like that per year and sometimes none in a year. That particular one that I posted was the most extreme one Ive produced. Thanks for the kind words.

Here are what his siblings look like and they represent what is normally produced...

That is a Altolampropeltis Compressiceps "Goldhead Phase" Its a African Cichlid from Lake Tanganyika. I had a Reef Tank up until last month when my filter died while I was at work then so did everything else in the tank :main_no: :main_thumbsdown:

Oh, that sucks about your filter!

I was wondering if that was Compressiceps, but have never seen that color phase before! Stunning! Also, all of the specimens I have seen in RL have been juvies and had really no color to them.

Right now, I have a breeding pair of Labidachromis (Electric Yellows), Blue Peacocks, Red Peacocks, a Bumblebee, Acei, and a few others I know I'm forgetting right now........
