I think it could been my mom becaue she came from her work and probably slammed door or passed my jackie's tank, it could freak her out and caused her to drop her tail

You think it was my cat? no. She dropped it in her tank, her hide. I went to check her out and saw it. :(
Tego would never do that. He was so docile and very friendly toward my pets. He never want bother them, he just dont care about them.

Anything could've happened. She could've been spooked, the could've gotten it pinched (remember, tails do wiggle around when they drop, so where it was may not have been where she dropped it)... it's hard to tell.

Just keep her in a clean enviroment and keep an eye one the stub. It should heal up in no time. She should be fine.

:( I found her tail in her warm hide but it was already dead(didn move) and paper towel as substance will work? I just want to make sure she wont get infections. I already treated her tail with little of Neopsirn.

I always found that funy about the noise. I have 5 Chihuahuas and im sure everyone knows how barky they are mine are nooo acseption! they enjoy it i think lol. Along with that i have lots of people coming and taping glass, making noises and all that. and even Knew babies never dropped they're tails. You'd think a 5 barking dogs would be more terrofing then a slammed door. Plus 2 of the dogs LOVE the geckos and insist they get to sniff them at least. Sabi(my SHTCTB) is actaully best buddies with one of the female chi's. There never left alone and there time together is limited but the female lets him sit on her back and climb her head her tail's just wags! Sabi likes to sit on her head too so my question is how true is it about sound?

Also sorry GrimmyX15(hehe makes me think of grimmjow) that your little one dropped their tail. It looks healthy tho and it'll grow back in no time:D It'll be adorable too most regrown tails are super cute! I also heard that neosporn isnt really needed just as long as they arent on anything that can infect it. Ofcourse it cant hurt, just thought id share that.

Shame about the tail dropping, never something you want to have happen even with it being as manageable as it is...

That said, thank you for the close up photos of both ends of it where it was dropped. Nice, big shots that are pretty clear and show the shape of the tissue in the cross section- how the zig zag forms along predetermined lines and how the edges on the stump curl inward while the edges on the dropped section fan out. It's really an awesome little bit of evolution, captured perfectly by your pictures.

NEVER assume a cat wouldent hurt/kill anything smaller than it. Housecats kill for fun and intertainment, i have a cat thats one of the nicest ones ive seen but she still kills anything that moves(thats smaller than her). It could of been the door also.

My cat never bother to go around my gecko's tank in living room, he didnt want to do nothing about it. Believe me, I lost my Jackie once, Tego was in my room and was sleeping while jackie was scambling on bare floor. Tego didnt do anything about it, he was on my bed and watching it. He only kills animals that havent been in my house. Because he knows that my pets have scent of mine, he knows it's mine. My mom scared my gecko while she was sleeping , she slammed door when go in. she slammed it because door get loose easily oh well. Jackie havent been in living room, it's her first time move there. she was in my room and in playroom which is "storge room".

Tego have different personailty toward my pets. he was more catuion of my pets, I had to show him my new baby gecko and long tailed lizard so he can get used to thier scent and knows they are not sort of pests.
I take my animals out to show him and also he got scared of my rat because Jebby attacked him cause tego was trying to snatch her tiisues that i gave her to play.

Why thank you. I just picked it up and showed it to my mom and froze it so i could take a pictures to show you guys on geckofourms. I thought it was interesting. She was bleeding after she dropped it and it bled a little for couple day. She was so scared, she went in humid hide too long. now she's fine and reurned to her self. she was nippy and scared when she drooped it. she thinks it was me. ahhh

Dont mind this question, but why are you putting neosporin on the tail ? They reattach themselves to their tails???? I am sooo confused.

Another, irrelevent, comment but... I don't think that geckos like all that stuff in their tank... looks a bit cluttered? Does he/she actually climb on all that stuff or what

neosporin is a ointment used for treating wounds, it will keep the "stump" healthy while it heals back over.
No, the tail will never reattach. Gecko's grow new tails

As for your other question, leos will climb stuff, and all of items in the tank are something the gecko could hide in :p The more hidey spots the merrier. They don't need that far to roam around.
