My Male Got OUT!

So I had a male crested gecko. He was separated from my female crested. He escaped sometime this week I believe it was Thursday or Friday.

I know some people who work at PS and they suggested I leave a light on tonight and see if he will go towards it. I also am going to leave food out in the areas I believe he is in.

Will I have any luck?

I think that would depend on how easily spooked he gets. I don't know a lot about cresties but I'm sure some of the other members will have good suggestions for ya.

I have had him for about 6 months and the female for almost 2 years I know a bit about them but I have never had any of my animals escape.
He is quite timid by the way... :(

I had a crested that was out for 3 weeks from my cat pushing in the screen on the cage. I found him when I heard the cat prancing around upstairs and I went running. Got him back ok.

Yeah he was just chilling on my wall in the shower. I almost left my room. Then I thought to myself hmm I guess ill turn on the light in my bathroom and look for a minute. Then he was staring at me.

I'm so glad you found your gecko! Poor little dude must have been scared out of his mind.

FWIW...cresties are nocturnal. I'm trying to make sense of why someone would recommend to leave a light on for them, seeing as how they naturally shy away from it. :main_rolleyes:

The only advice/information that pet store employees should be allowed to give is as follows:
~We take mastercard, visa, cash or check.
~The bathroom is located in the rear of the store to the left.

That is all. :p

Ha ha that is funny. :main_laugh:
I think I know what they mean by leaving on some light. But it should be a dim light imitating the moon.

Amen to that... I think that pet store employees cause more problems than actually help. Perfect example is dog food... listening to store employees try to talk dog food to customers about makes me wretch, then of course I gotta jump in and put in my 2 cents and correct everything the employee just told the customer. Can't tell you how many times I've been asked to leave PS because of this but I always call their home office and tell them what happened and I've seen managers disappear over this.

Just seeing on here how ignorent they are on herps is a whole new level of wretching for me. Thank the gods I've never had to discuss herps with a PS employee.
