So I have decided to try my hand at breeding one or two of my geckos but also decided to expand my collection at the same time. I knew that I needed find a way to store everything if thats what I was going to do. So I got rid of the aquariums and got this

I had this for a few weeks and decided it looked tacky and I couldnt really house to many more leos on here. But was researching on how to make racks and was a little nervous about making one. Well then I went to the classifieds and purchased 4 new leos from Kristi at Ghoulish Geckos. 3 beautiful 09 hatchlings (2 females and 1 possible male) and a previous breeder she had. She was completely awesome to do business with. So i knew tuesday I was gettin new leos in and I went out and got all the materials to build the rack. And here it goes.

the start of it

and the finish

It didnt turn out to bad but I had home depot cut the wood then I went home and assembled it and my shelves could have been a bit longer. Because of this I cant put my peg board on the back but for my first rack i think is awesome. 21 12qt tubs. Im having the heat tape overnighted on monday and hopefully I can find a good thermostat today. I am currently drilling holes in my tubs as we speak. Tell me what you think. I hope u guys enjoy!

Very nice! I'm probably going to have to build something very similar for next season's hatchlings.

If you're planning on painting it, I would go for white. I think it would look really clean and professional :)

Looks very nice. I made a rack similar to your first one but chopped down the legs, it works perfect and doesnt require any lids. I use it for new introductions and breeding pairs during the season.

i think i might copy your rack for my breeding females. I just dont think 12qt tubs are gonna cut it for breeding. I have a few 26qt tubs and some wood left to build that. how did u attach the wood to the rack? Does anyone know a good site to get thermostats (i dont want to purchase a helix yet, im looking for a cheaper on

The base wood is just notched at the corners so it doesnt move, and on top i put peg board and used wire to pull it tight to the bottom of the shelf on top. Fits perfect and all tubs slide easily. I am using 26qt tubs on mine and its perfect for breeding
