My only furry one

This is Zim, my short tailed opossum. He's the only furry member in the house hold (besides the rats in the freezer ). This upcoming month I should be getting a female for him. He's very spoiled in the reptile room and get's all the bugs his little heart desires.

No you don't and definitely not in NY. I don't know why either. They make great easy pets, much better than nippy boring hamsters. They are a little expensive, but like everything else, if more people haven them and breed them, prices would drop.

Actually he's a marsupial

He's never bit. I wouldn't necessarily call them social, but they tolerate me very well. This one will sit on my shoulder as I clean cages and eats out of my hand.

That's so neat. I have never heard of such a creature. And I agree hamsters are nippy and boring. Thats why my girlfriend has a rabbit.
