any tips or suggestions would be great

one question: is that sand? if it is you might want to switch becuase of impaction. I use cage carpet, it works well and is easy to clean. You can get it at almost any pet store. You can also use tile.

i was going to but i cant seem to find where to buy them

They are just regular aquarium backgrounds that can be found at pretty much any pet store. You just measure 3 sides of your tank and tell them how much you need. Than trim it to fit.
