MYSTERY HATCHLING X

Breeding was Afghan Tremper double het. Eclipse, Patty x Afghan Eclipse het. Tremper poss. het. patty. Incubation temperature was 89-90 degrees (no loss of power or temp drops) hatched at 35 days. Hatchling X was full developed and absorbed all the yolk sac and seems to be of average or normal hatchling size.
At first, I thought it was a super light Eclipse, but after sending photo's to three breeders who've hatched and seen way more Leopard geckos than I have for their opinion, all three said "Albino".
Hatchling X shows no signs of light sensitivity which albino's show, ie closing eyes or running away. After further inspecting hatchling X's eyes, they're black! So what I've been able to infer at this point is hatchling X has an albino's body (pink body with yellow bands associated with Tremper albino's) and a dark tail (not associated with high temperature Tremper albino's) with black eyes (associated with an Eclipse non-albino's). Paradox albino...or something else?

May 12th Photo taken hours after hatching.

I'm thinking a RAPTOR with very dark eyes, pictures 4 and 6 show a red pupil.

The red you're seeing is the vein membrane in the back of the eyes that shows up in Eclipses when photographed. Also Tremper's at High temps such as 89-90 don't have black on them. Never hatched a dark Tremper at those temps, never.

very interesting leo Eric. maybe the afghan genes have something to do with the tail, but having truly black eyes would make this a non-albino in the true sense of the word. i'm extremely interested in seeing how this little guy turns out.

They definitely look like black eclipse eyes. Most of mine have the red line after hatching. What a confusing baby. I'm curious to see how it will change. The post shed pics make me think that all the bands will turn orange.

It sure looks albino, however those are very clearly black eclipse eyes and not the misleading super dark red eyes some albino/eclips's display right after hatching. Maybe somehow it's not a true albino but just has very light body coloring... it definately appears to be an albino except the darker tail and eyes...

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out.
