Hey,

Okay... I put my mealworms into a steril plastic container, with blended up oatmeal and some potato on top for moistness. The mealworms are (I think are the bigger mealworms, no not superworms) like at the biggest they are going to get. They have not yet turned into pupae.... I have no clue why. Some (say... about 9) have died and I threw them out because they were all black and dead. What can I do to help then turn into pupae?? I started the colony about a wekk ago...

I keep them in my bed room (my lizard's temp thing says around 80). What am I doing wrong? Or are they still in the last stages on being mealworms??

Thank everyone... :main_thumbsup:

Emma.

I have never even attempted to start a mealworm colony (I'm about to but....), maybe they just need a little more time?

I haven't been able to get them to change for about 2 months now. I had one change and it died. I believe it has something to do with the mealworm problems right now. They're not pupating.

Sounds like you have giant mealworms, reg mealworms have 9 molts then morph. I keep mine around 74-76F and they morph in a few months.

If you only started a week ago,you need to give them more time.
