I'm kind of difficult to understand how to translate gallon into centimetres, therefore I want to ask all of you next thing - I purchased something similar to a rack system, where the tanks (measuring in cm) are 31/37 - so will 1 such tank will be ok for 1 adult, or is it small? or maybe I can put even 2 adults together?

I think in inches it's about 12"x12" and one tank would be good for 1 adult gecko (maybe even a bit small).

i'm thinking of bying another 2, or 3 such systems, but if the tanks are too small for keeping 1 adult, so I guess I would take just 1 more system for keeping babies... what will you suggest?

I woulkd say for babies it´´s fine. I´´m using trofast tubes from ikea for my babies. These are 42*30*10 and I´´m housing 1 to 4 babies each.

Hi Ann, ummm I would say that's probably a bit small, we had one in that small a tank and then my BF felt guilty and went and bought her a 3 ft long tank which she now loves.

P.S. I also have no idea how to translate cms/inches into gallons :main_rolleyes:

Ooooh found a way to work out how many Gallons something is:

And just to offer another way of working out (in UK gallons)...

Feet (in inches) x Height (in inches) x Width (in inches) /1728 x 6.25

So:

36 x 12 x 18 = 7776 (the number of cubic inches in the tank)
7776 / 1728 = 4.5 (the number of cubic feet in the tank)
4.5 x 6.25 = 28.125 (UK Gallons)

It took a while to work it out but eventually got there :)
