New card

So, I made some designs, then got distracted and abandoned it, and then david found a font he liked, and I was bored so I tried again.

I am going to print it with a spot UV, so where the gecko is glossy, but everything else is matte/regular paper.

Thoughts?

oh, and there is a closer crop, that is the full file, including bleed area and all that jazz. so in the card there wont be as much white space around the edges.

I would say for the font that is used for the email address and "leopard geckos and webdesign" should be all lower case. The case difference in the second font choice is a bit hard when the other is all caps.

Maybe another choice for that font would work.. myraid pro?

The rounded look of this contrasts the bold hard lines of the other font you're using.

It just takes some playing around for me.. but I like it!

Thanks guys. Matthew ~ I love the suggestion of doing the other font all lower case to contrast with the all upper case. Great idea, I will definitely try it out.

The gecko picture on the bottom right - should it be smaller? I cant decide.... Ill update the font and the picture size to get more feedback. Thanks!

edit: better? I left the Eublepharis part capitalized, because thats how scientific names go. And I wouldnt really be a geek if I didnt adhere to those basic rules

Lookin' great, Tamara! I think the size of the gecko on the right is just fine. There's just enough white area, without looking too crowded. Great job! :main_thumbsup:

Thanks. Its 2 views of the same gecko, I dont know if that was totally clear. I dont want it to appear like I just slapped as many gecko pictures as possible onto one side of the card I just didnt want them to compete? I dont know if that makes sense. I like the idea of having the 2 views on there... I dont know.

I understood the concept of two views and like it. I always enjoy your use of photos in your card mockups. When I am able to get online later they are a few small things I notice I'll tell you on aim later. Besides, in a few hours I'm sure you will have moved some stuff around by tonight anyway.. Hehe

I like it a LOT!!! I do think the lower case text adds more to the overall aesthetic value of the design. I like the two views of the gecko, too!

That looks great! I like the size of the geckos in the first proof... the white space is just enough... the lowercase text is much nicer in the second proof, great job David and Tamara!

This is something that I quickly threw together [i dont care for it]. I most likely wont use the same font or even color scheme, its just to give me an idea:

The cool thing, is that I actually custom ordered little card holders to be painted like these 2 geckos [and a few others] So, I will have these geckos holding cards with pictures of... these geckos!

Hahah, I may be a total geek, but I am stoked about the idea.

The forum the pictures are on is down right now, ill post pictures of the card holders later.

Thanks guys I had this great idea to give out some to a few people as party favors for the norcal reptile geek meet we were throwing. And now we are moving to a studio come june first, so the party is off :main_thumbsdown:

BUT! Keep an eye out at the sac show for me, I may still show up with a personalized present for a couple of fellow vendors I already have ideas a-cookin!

I got another one of my cresties done too. One of my extreme harleys. Here are the other ones in my "test batch"
