New feeder project...

Introducing the African pygmy mouse (Mus munitions)... It is the smallest rodent in the world and may even be the smallest mammal...

Once the colony is up and going the minute pinkies will be used for very small colubrids... No more parting pinkies... They will also be used to give baby dwarf monitors a huge start... We will not have to resort to just feeding crickets for the first couple of months...

Here is a pic of one of our full grown adults... They are not even the size of a hopper...

Don't mean to get off topic, but where has Fe gotten too? I haven't seen her on here in ages!


But yeah reptiles first, micey would have to snuff it.

Very cool Gregg. I my self have been looking into feeder breeding projects for my dwarf monitors and future snake collection.
I have been looking at african striped grass mice as well as a variety of others, might have to give THESE a try.

I figure if you are going to have a breeding project for your feeders you mine as well make it interesting. in sted of the usual feeder mice or rats.

On a side note, how did you get a hold of these? All my research suggests no one ships LIVE rodents.
