My fiance and I are getting two female leos after our honeymoon on Sept. 30. They are my wedding gift to him. He was so excited that the day I told him (even though we aren't getting married til next weekend) we went out and bought a tank set up and two days ago built a stand and stained it yesterday. So I wanted to post the setup that we built for them.

Also my fiance has tons of experience with leos, iguanas, and tegus. He is familiar with risks and care of these animals. While I've had snakes and beardies. We're a good team.

I value opinions and can't wait to post pictures of the girls (one blizzard & one tangerine) when we get back.

(Just so you know the cage furnishing aren't complete yet. We still have a few hides to add.

it looks pretty for now. i just wanna make sure your setup is safe when you are down. so if you finish post everything you have and you will get amazing feedback that couold save your leos life.

I do suggest you get the sand out of there, it can cause impaction, which can cause your leos to loose the ability to urinate and defecate, and will eventually make him obsolete.

Also what are you using as a heat source?

You can see the cord that pretty clearly is going to an UTH.

what ever happened to phrases like "may i suggest..." or "It might be a good idea to.." it seems like everyone just wants to be ordering the new guys around.

These are just recommendations. If they are adult or sub adult Leos, the sand should be fine. If that is UTH there, you may want to put the tank up on those little rubber feet, so the heat doesn't cause the glass to break at the bottom of the tank. And yea, for babies the sand isn't a good idea. But the tank looks really good, and that stand is awesome, I wish I could build stuff...any stuff that good!

:main_yes: And you will have space for the other leos thsat you will surley want and may i suggest a coouple of canvas covered boxes for your powders,supplments,spray bottles, extra hides etc. You will need them trust
me.
