I purchased a Leopard gecko today (this is my first one) I researched everything I needed so I'm hoping my little guy is happy and adapting. This may sound weird but I feel like he won't go to sleep unless I'm by the tank. Everytime I leave the room he aimlessly runs around the tank and his neck seams to pulsate very quickly but when I come back and sit next to the tank he leans against the glass and his movement in his neck slows and stares at me until he falls asleep. (2 mins or so) opens he's eyes about every 5 mins and then closes them again. As soon as I leave he is back to running around the cage. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has an understanding of their behavior. I feel the only way he'll get sleep is if I stay next to the cage (I'm sure that may sound ludicrous to some of you). I could only imagine the stress he went through leaving his home at the pet shop to a new home. I feed him today so I don't think he is waiting for me to feed him and he has fresh water.
