Thanks you two, he is so sweet, was expecting him to more nervous.

The sad part about his living space was, a 20 gallon tank with 4 other leos, two hides, one large wide none to deep dish that took up the tank a lot, no heat pads just a heat lamp that did not heat well( and shouldn't be on at all during the day for that type of lizard)

When I held him, he curled into a ball to try and get a lot of heat, I felt bad because I was thinking of lzrdgrls gecko, but I put him back in and he seemed lost and sad.

Lzrdgrl, you said he looks over a year old, just a question for you, he rubs his body on the tank but can lift his body(so not calcium problems) is he marking the tank or not used to having heat below him?

He's probably marking the tank; they do that (also with caves and other stuff you have in there!). :main_yes:

He looks nice and it looks like he'll have a good home with you. I agree with not breeding him.

Also, just for future reference, buying a gecko from a pet store is not a rescue. You're giving them money to keep selling animals that are unhealthy, etc. If you get it for free from a person or get it from an animal rescue, then it's a rescue. Pet store geckos are not rescues no matter what shape they're in. Too many people buy them thinking they're doing a good thing, but it just contributes to the problem.

Got it, thanks. I am going to try to work at the petstore I got him from, explain to the owner about which animals do not need heat lights and a lot that need heat pads.

Either way, I need to share my thoughts with this woman and also our local petco.

Here are some pictures from today, thinking of staying with the name Storm.

Going to be finding out the morph of him tomorrow, the store owner needs to get in touch with the breeder.
