Well this is my first year trying to breed Leopard Geckos..

I have cool down the females and males, well on Sunday I put together my female SHCT to my male SHCT, they're in good weight and shape.

When I introduce the female, instantly the male try to bit her so he can copulate, but the female refuse and the male didn't try it again, I will leave them 2 days more (5 in total) it's ok that? You think the male will try again with the female? Because the female dont even let him get closer..

When this 5 days finish, how much I have to him the male to go to a "vacation" :) so later I can introduce another female?

Thanks guys

Jorge

The female may not be ovulating yet. Only 2 of my 7 breeding females are ovulating. You can either leave the male in with her for awhile, or take him out and re-introduce in a week. There are pictures on the forum of what to look for to tell if a female is ovulating.

Ok, I think she's not ovulating, so I get her out? Start feeding her? A female needs to ovulate so she can be introduced to a male? When a female ovulate's the eggs are not fertile right?

Thanks

Ovulation is the female getting ready to produce eggs. If she is not ovulating, she will not produce eggs even if she mates, and will probably not allow mating. Sometimes the presence of the male can result in female ovulation (although this hasn't happened for most of mine yet). You should either leave them together for awhile and keep checking the female, or take the female out for a week or two and then re-introduce them. If the male isn't bothering the female too much, you may as well leave them together.

I'll take the female out, I prefer to she ovulates, can you post me a good thread about ovulation? I was looking but didn't found a good one.. So how I can be sure the female or my females will ovulate?

Thanks
