I hope they did not charge you for them...They are lucky to have you..they obviously could not care for them..therefore they should not have charged.

Speaking of which, the ones that came into where I work that came in looking JUST like that are doing SO well. The biggest one is almost 20 grams now. Zero deaths..and BIG tails! I'll have to take some pictures soon.

Good Luck. I would get some slurry in them quick!!!!

They are dehydrated too. So provide extra water.

Also, I wish you luck because I had one like that and I lost it. :(

Can you imagine walking into a pet store & getting a puppy or kitten in equal shape? The store would be on Oprah! Too bad reptiles don't get the same attention.

Best wishes on their road to recovery.

The only problem I see with PetCo "rescues" is that they are not resues at all... If you buy them, you are just contributing... If you get them for free somehow, you are just making more room for more leos in the store...

With that being said, I hope you get them in shape and they live long healthy lives in your hands...:main_thumbsup:

Jup! I hope they get well and grow big and strong but people if you buy them from pet co obviously they are just going to restock and unless your a millionaire your not going to buy the ones that come after. I seriously don't know why the police and animal laws don't enforce reptile care just as they do on dogs and cats.

Not enough people throw fits about a reptile like they do a puppy or a kitten. Unfortunatly, or too many people the lizards are "throw away" pets. Alot like a gold fish. It is a sad way of thinking. These little guys deserve the same TLC as any other living creature. It is really hard to go into one of those places, see an animal in such great need and not buy it. I know that when a person buys the animal it is just helping out those big companies but it is hard to let an animal die when you know that at most of these places it is dying in vain. The big companies don't care about loosing a few reptiles. There are alot more reptile lovers out here then you would think maybe everyone needs to start writing to their local politicians. If enough people scream loud enough together ( speaking figuratively- don't expect people to go out and scream at the politicians) then maybe they will eventually hear the issue and take a look at the problem. I hope your little guys pull through and live a long and happy life.

I've noticed that the PetCo in Columbus has been getting juvenile geckos which tend to look SO much better than the near hatchlings they used to order.

The leopard geckos I've seen at the Petsmart are near hatchlings, and tend to look pretty bad. The only good thing is that they're housed on reptile carpet versus sand, like PetCo.

awe :( The poor things! If there was a gecko like that at the Petco I work at there is no WAY it would be out on the sales floor.....they shouldn't even be able to get to that condition. We've had only one baby get into a condition similar to that, and it was a baby that never ate well and never gained weight (and it was kept in back on paper towels with a humid hide). It's unfortunate that they are shipped out so very very young. I have a pair that I took home just before Valentine's day and they are doing fantastically!...fat little tails and fabulous color! We had another really nice one come in recently with some really nice coloration that a coworker was thinking about buying. "Hopefully" your little ones' problems are related to an associate's neglect (which can be "easily" corrected) and not impaction or failure to thrive. I hope they do well for you!
