It’s a mix of sand/stone and natural soil all purchased from our local reptile supplier

Sounds like an interesting combination. Just make sure there aren't stone chunks in there. I had a small dish of rocks once for some of my geckos to dig in and one of them broke her jaw chomping down on the stone!
