I'd like to get a non-heat emitting blue or red night bulb for my gecko for night visability. Yesterday I went to ******** and I couldn't find one.

Any suggestions or ideas where I can find some?

You can buy them from a lot of online stores. I'm in the UK so I'm not sure the best places in the US, however I know you can get them from LivefoodsUK over here. Have you tried looking around on EBay?

Just try another pet store or reptile store. I don't know why the one you went to didn't have them, maybe they were out of stock?

very likely this time of year, it's cold and more people are using bulbs to supplement other heating types. the bulb section at my store is pretty much all bought out except for the really cheap day basking bulbs that burn out in like a week... nobody buys those things lol.

I use those LED aquarium "accent" lights that you stick on the walls
of your tank. They come in red, blue and green, give off the right
amount of light, last a long time, no heat, and are very energy efficient.
You can buy them at any pet/fish store.

If you do buy them, dont forget you need the hub to plug the
lights into. You can plug up to 3 lights in the hub, and the hub
plugs into the wall.

All major chain stores in my area have them. I got one just last week for like $5. It's a moonlight night viewing bulb. I might be wrong, but most light bulbs are going to emit some sort of heat. I know the one I got said on the package it was a heat bulb but really it doesn't do much. Just get one with the lowest wattage, and make sure it doesn't say UVB on the package.

What about those "party" bulbs you can get at any store. I think they come in red or blue(black). Are those OK?

LED's do not emit heat. Err, well, everything technically will emit some
heat, but you cant feel it.
Also, they use almost no energy (compared with incandescents) and last
a very long time.
It's a no brainer ;)

I ended up getting a blue LED,Nats. It looks pretty neat at nighttime, and it gives off NO heat. I spend like 30 bucks for the light and the hub, but it was well worth it. Thanks!!!

I'm glad it worked out for you. :main_yes:
I have red and blue, one on each side, so in the middle, it's purple.
It looks really cool.

I bet it looks cool. I saw that they also have green, but I was hesitant to buy it as I don't know how my gecko would react to it.
