I just found my trio of goniosaurus kuroiwae dead.
The probe detached from the heat tape.
I had that damn thing taped on there the best I could have without pouring concrete over the damn thing. My assessment is that when I misted the castelnaui a few tubs above them that the condensation ran down to the tape that was holding the probe in place. Water isn't real conducive to adhesives. When feeding the castels last night, I must have knocked the probe away without knowing it--that or the weight of the cord itself pulled it free once the tape gave up.
The other geckos in the rack include my milii, viper and picta geckos. Even though the gonis were in the bottom tub, the increased heat must have boosted their ambient temperature and humidity to fatal levels. The rest of the geckos all seem fine at the moment, but the reason I checked in on them was because the milii were all at the front of their tubs instead of hiding toward the middle/back, which they never do this time of day. If it wasn't for noticing them, I honestly probably wouldn't have even checked on anyone in the rack until tomorrow.
I really can't take this any more. I feel like something or someone either has me cursed or is trying to tell me something.
I don't use unreliable equipment.
I don't neglect nor ignore my geckos.
I still fail.
Really, what's the point any more?
