yes there are people on here who feed mealworms, but not as many as a complete staple...especially not superworms....that will cause problems. Ive asked a vet myslef about this topic and have read countless stories on the internet people posting why is my leopard gecko not producing bowel movements anymore alot of times weather you want to believe it or not they fed superworms as a staple..coincidence?. I'm not arguing feeding them these worms..my only argument is using them as a staple. You said your getting dubias, that would be good:main_thumbsup: good luck but as satyr said be careful they are illegal for us...and make sure you dont use them as a staple either due to there high protein content...i cut down on my silkworms because of the protein, my geckos have been drinking more water due to the protien sucking the water from them...dubias have alot of protein. Thats why you should feed [Bvariety[/B]...my advice is save up and order phoenix worms to atleast add sometin different...the site im getting them from has 34 cent silkworms which is a great price....just pay for over night and there you go...its expensive but it would be beneficial for them. I'm not trying to troll..no reason to.

...wow you are ignorant as hell. Cant beleive I waisted my time on you. NO ONE SAID THERE BAD. My WHOLE argument is you saying there fine as a STAPLE(superworms)...information is everywhere for you to read. Its not new news that dubias are high in protien(moderation)...and what can excess protien cause? dehydration which leads to excess water intake...like my situation. So you know what...do whatever the hell you want. Feed your geckos superworms every day and be ignorant and not do whats best for them when you have the chance to. Feel sorry for your gecko, not you. You have the option to order them online like everyone else, you want sympathy because you need to overnight?. Even people with multiple geckos dont feed a staple, and you have one. Wasted my time on your ignorance, smh. MY WHOLE ARGUMENT WAS NOT TO FEED SUPERWORMS AS A STAPLE THATS IT, AND YOU WILL READ THAT EVERYWHERE THAT ITS BEST TO FEED VARIETY. I dont need you to confirm that with me. Do people a favour if you wont take advice as help, get off this forum. Your so ignorant it pisses me off, you mad bro because its expensive?, everyone is hurting out here but try's to do the best for there geckos. You think I like paying 12 dollars + tax for 12 silkworms? or 30 dollars for 3 tubs of phoenix worms PLUS SHIPPING?, no but I save for them. Just like you would for your child when you have one. Really though, whats your argument about ordering a different feeder to atleast give your gecko SOME variety...like :wall:

I already stated I would be buying mealworms next week and dubais next year. I do occasionally pickup some crickets every month, but not a whole lot. Money is not a problem, I could care less(by the way I do have multiple geckos, not just one. I also have other reptiles that eat insects). It is easiest to buy one feeder that I can use for most all of my reptiles than pay a ton more for small amounts individually. It is simple economics. And yes, MANY breeders use a staple, sometimes adding in other insects on occasion. Get of off your throne and calm down. So long as a gecko receives proper hydration and calcium/vitamins other feeders are not an issue, nor is digestion.
One vets opinion can be very different than another's, so asking a vet doesn't mean shit. Vets have told other people that geckos belong on sand, while others on leaves and dirt.

I'm far from being on any throne, and I know I dont act like I know everything so dont tell me that crap. I reasearch and learn something new everyday. You pissed me when you said shut up, I wasted my time on you. Second, I just wanted to correct you since you obviously didnt read my post properly. I never said superworms/mealies/dubais should not be fed at all, have no idea where you got that from. My only argument was against you feeding superworms as a staple, THATS IT. Then I mentioned that dubias should not be fed as a pure staple either because of the portien content and what excess protein can do, just to give some advice generally + on experience with what im going through now. Thats when you snapped for no reason and looked ignorant. And yes I did ask a vet and yes I do realize that not everyone is right, but what she said was backed up by research and from her personal experience dealing with leopard geckos. And I dont beleive a word you say when you tell me a reptile dr gave such advise as put a domestic leopard gecko on leaves and dirt..bullsh. And yes I am aware that some people say you can leave adult leos on sand. Breeders use a staple of pure mealies because they know they are going to sell them off quickly. You never corrected me/told me you feed crickets on occasion, and I even told you thats great your getting dubias, so you snapping makes you look like an straight moron.

*edit* regarding your pm to me. Still seems like you take everything I say out of context, I never said use phoenix worms or crickets as a staple. I simply said if your going to strictly use superworms or mealies as a staple, try ordering something else out of the year, once even just to get SOMETHING else in since its a complete hassle for you because of where you are.

I am sorry for misinterpreting what you were saying, but it did very well come off as completely anti mealworm/superworm. I will admit I responded a bit immaturely, stress offline has influenced a bit of my online activity recently so I have been a little easy to anger. I apologize for that.

I do and will continue to try to vary their diet, though I do not very much right now I will try a bit harder.

She ate around 2 days ago, but has not pooped yet X_X.
She is not impacted, I candled her and saw no blockages and she has no bruises anywhere on her. I can only think that her digestion has slowed for the winter and the 1 superworm 2 days in a row are taking awhile to digest. I already ordered 1000 crickets so she should be eating those from now on when they come in. Will be attempting to breed them as well for a steady supply even though I hate them.

Regardless I have been giving her a daily soak to try and help.
