I bred an Enigma het RAPTOR male to a Sunglow female, expecting to get some cool hypo albino enigmas poss het RAPTOR and various things of that nature. The first baby is out, and to my surprise, she has completely black eyes with blood red pupils. I don't understand how this happened, unless my Sunglow female was het RAPTOR as well? Then I guess this would be a hypo BEE? Or something else? Any input would be appreciated.

looks kinda like a NOVA (enigma raptor) i could be wrong but that is my guess.

I thought the same thing when she popped out initially. Since her eyes are eclipse, I guess that proves my Sunglow was het for RAPTOR, even though I had no idea about that. Either way, its a nice surprise! :main_yes:

thank you! looking at the tail makes me lean towards BEE. I've never hatched a RAPTOR with a spotted tail, but then again, i've not yet hatched a NOVA at all. Unforunately her tail has a small bump on it which she was born with. My guess is that it was due to incubation fluxuation. Still a beautiful animal though.

She just had her first shed, and I'm definately thinking now she is just a really cool looking B.E.E. Here are some update pics. Note those pupils! Still, if any of yall have a different idea of what she may be, feel free to chime in! :main_yes:

craig I'm doing the temp switch on females too and I've started bumping them to 85 after 21 days and letting them adjust for a few then bumping up to 90 gradually. I had one that didn't hatch this year, and thought it was from temp too. So far no other problems once I slowed it down.

and +1 on the BEE...

Thanks for the tip. The bump on her tail that she was born with has actually somehow dissapeared, so I don't know what was up with that. She's the 6th animal I've hatched so far this year using the 81 to 90 method, with the others coming out fine. I may slow it down though just to be on the safe side. But with a lot of my eggs already at 90, i don't want to bring them down to 85 and then push them up to 90 again.
