Grrr.. My mom has a 29gallon tank with stand in the living room of our apartment that hasn't been used for around 2years! Before adopting Lana I asked if I could use the tank and stand because I wanted to get a gecko, yada, yada, ya.. So today she's telling me Lana is JUST WAY to big to be in a itty bitty 10gallon (I agree). Then she turns around and says ohhh you can use if you want!

Tell me that NOW after I SPENT $12 on a new UTH! and already GLUED onto the tank! Grrr.. Maybe on my next break from school I'll take her offer fix it up!!! Lana came with some LUCK!

Try taking the UTH off very slowly, I've heard it worked for others.

A 10gallon tank will work just fine for one adult gecko.:main_yes: Save the 29gal for a future group (2-3) of geckos.:main_thumbsup:

I don't think you've seen my gecko.. She's LOOOOOOOOOONG! I'm some one that will try and give the absolute best for my pets. My other gecko was in tank that was (36x12x16) all by herself. Going from that to a 10gallon I don't feel right. Lol. I'm just weird like that..

Plus I doubt i'll be getting a group..

save the 10g incase you get another so you can keep an eye on it before adding it to the larger tank.

I switch UTH's around all the time. Just peal it off and then if it wont stick to the other tank you can use electrical tape to tape it up. They are to expensive not to move around as I need them.

How did you peel it off.. because I have a exo terra UTh and when I tried to peel it off it ripped in half! Even though exo terras are a lot thinner the zoomeds.

I've gotten them to peel when they are still slightly warm. The adhesive moves easier warm than cool. I start at the base by the cord and once I have an even line up across I pull it off very slowly, without bending it backwards more than about 30 degrees. Its slow but I've moved a few of the zoomed heaters around that way.

I vote you leve the heater on, buy another one since its only 12 bucks, upgrade your gecko, and there you have it an excuse to get another leo or a AFT :main_yes:

Personally I’d leave the UTH on the 10-gallon, and use it for a quarantine tank if you get another gecko, in the future. This way everything is already set-up for you. Especially when you can fit 3 leopard geckos in a 20-long!

I suggest aspen shavings you can probably find them at your local pet store. I found this out from somone who works at the hobe sound, FL nature center.

I would agree with Hailey...

Whenever you get a new Leo it should be kept seperate from others for four to six weeks. That allows you time to examine them for any signs of illness. Then when you're comfortable introduce them and observe for signs of aggression.
