Obese geckos

Is it unhealthy for leopard geckos to be severely overweight for leopard geckos, like a 2 inch thick tail. I like the fat geckos but want healthy geckos.

Yes, they can get too fat.

It different for every gecko.
You can post pictures and we can help determine.
Its like dogs, there is no "correct" weight, just a nice body score.

You can normaly see fat deposits on the body of the animal and IMO, that would be obese, unless the animal is to be bred and needs all the energy it can get. I agree that Pics would help, however some people seem to think that over weight is a good thing.

Overweight ANYTHING is not a healthy thing.

If you feed them appropriately, you shouldnt have any problems with obesity. Unless you overfeed.
