This little guy really caught my eye last night!
I grabbed the camera as soon as I noticed him hatching...because he is NOT supposed to be anything but a normal patternless (or a Patternless Bell...if I could ever hit the odds).
I've hatched quite a few patternless to date and I've never seen one like this. Has anyone else??
He appears to have solid black eyes...but he's a bit small for me to be sure. No Mack Snow genes in his blood line...his mom was a double het Bell x Patty...and so was the dad. He went a few days past his due date...so I don't think the coloring is due to being "pre-mature". Of course, he could shed once and look completely normal!;)
I'll keep an eye on this one...

Wow Paul.
Congrats on this little cutie!
Of course you can see pattern on the back. But that's not the normal pattern of a Patternless hatchling.
As far as I can see it on the pictures it only has a row of spots running down the middle of his back.
I hope it stays that way for you! Keep us updated.

Regards,
Johannes

I've hatched hundreds of pattys, but never seen one that dark! VERY cool, Paul... keep us posted!

I was hoping you'd say that Marcia! I know you've had tons of experience with them. I'll update as soon as he get through his first shed...

Thanks Johannes! His pattern seems a bit "off" to me also...:main_thumbsup:
