So my sookeh..and his tank buddy.. i thought they were the same sex.. until today when i saw sookeh mounting up! Quesiton.. The little one is a bit young - only about 25g - is she too young to get preggers? They are now in different tanks.. but my goodness that was a shocker!

Uh, yeah.
She's too small to become gravid.
At 25g, though, she shouldn't be ovulating yet, especially if she's still young.
I guess weirder things have happened, though.
Good thing you separated them now!:D
If she doesn't become gravid, she may retain any sperm, though, from the male that she may have gotten, and then she could actually become gravid when she ovulates.

it's definatley possible for a leo that small to ovulate or become gravid.

Trust me. My little Belle is paying the price of carelessness. Females that small CAN become gravid.

ahh heck.. thats not good. ive tried to sex sookeh numerous times and he always looked like a girl. I even posted pics on another website and everyone said oh my yes thats a girl.. now out of nowhere the pores have become extremely noticeable. He is a strange little man.. I once was sure he was a boy, then the pores just seemed to fade away - thats when i posted the pics of his underside. Poor little spaz.. i shall keep a close watch on her.

I meant she's TOO SMALL for it to be considered "safe" for her to become gravid.
"Couldn't" really meant "Shouldn't".

Of course if the gecko is ovulating she can become gravid.
But generally leos do not ovulate at 25 grams AND as young as the OP implied the gecko was.
I CAN happen, it's just not typical.

I've had a couple I was SURE were males, then I was SURE they were females. Sort of learned that I should keep everyone separate until either a) pores and bulges become obvious (to confirm male) or b) they ovulate (to confirm female).

I have heard that before but am curious to know how long they can retain the sperm - a month? a week?

I had the same thing happen. One of my supposed females was actually male. I freaked when I found out cause I was not planning on breeding at the time. Just watch your little girl and hope for the best. Feed her up as much as you can and good luck.
